Immunosupression
Immunosuppression means your system isn't functioning because it should. This can be caused by disease, but it is more often induced by medications such as chemotherapy and immunosuppressants. Some procedures can cause immunosuppression too.
The immune system is the collection of all the cells, tissues, and organs that help the body stave off infection. Without an intact system, infections can become very aggressive, and should even be fatal. Immunosuppression also increases the danger of cancer, because the system helps protect the body from cancer. The system helps protect your body from harmful substances called antigens. Antigens are substances that cause the immune system to produce antibodies against it. Examples of antigens include: Bacteria, Viruses, Toxins, Cancer cells.
An immunodeficiency disorder thanks to medications (in individuals that are given medicines which weaken immune systems) is mentioned as immunosuppression.
Individuals with a weakened system should avoid contact with people that have infections or contagious disorders. Avoiding people who have been vaccinated with live virus vaccines within the past 2 weeks is highly recommended. Long-term use of antibiotics or antifungal medications alongside preventive (prophylactic) treatments could also be suggested by your doctor. Viral infections and a few sorts of cancer may require an immunostimulant drug like Interferon, because it may be a medicine that improves system function. HIV or AIDS patients may take combinations of medicine to enhance immunity and reduce the quantity of HIV within the system. Vaccines against bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumonia and Haemophilus influenzae should be administered 2 weeks before planned surgeries.
