Immunobiology of Oncoprotein

HER-2/neu is a 185-kDa protein receptor with tyrosine kinase activity and extensively homology to the epidermal growth factor receptor which is expressed in many epithelial tumors and are known to be expressed in all ovarian and breast cancers of all pancreatic adenocarcinomas, and of colorectal carcinomas. An oncogene is a gene that has the potential to cause cancer In tumor cells, they are often mutated or expressed at high levels.
