Biography
Hon Wai Koon's work is establishing novel mechanistic connections among cytokine, miRNA, and hormone in the elafin-mediated regulation of obesity and liver steatosis in mice subjected to a high fat diet. Dr. Koon has been the recipient of a Pilot and Feasibility Study Grant from the former Digestive Research Center at UCLA (CURE: Digestive Diseases Research Core Center) that facilitated his research on the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of cathelicidin peptides in acute and chronic colitis. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. He has authored of many research articles/books related to Gastroenterology.
