Biochemistry, or biological chemistry, is the study of related or within the living organisms of chemical processes. It is a sub discipline of Biology and Chemistry. Biochemistry can be broken down into three fields; structural biology, enzymology, and metabolism. Biochemistry focuses on understanding the chemical basis that enables biological molecules to give rise to the processes that occur inside and between living cells. It is closely related to the study and understanding of tissues and organs, and the structure and function of the organisms. Biochemistry is closely related to molecular biology, the study of biological phenomena's molecular mechanisms. Biochemistry discusses the structures, functions, and interactions of biological macromolecules , such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates , and lipids, which provide cell structure and perform many of the life-related functions. Biochemical findings are mainly applied in medicine, nutrition, and agriculture.
