Innate Immunity Scholarly Peer Review Journal
Innate immunity is the innate immunity of the person. Innate immunity is non-specific in nature. The response of innate immunity depends on the recognition of the evolutionarily conserved structures present on pathogens, called molecular models associated with pathogens (PAMP). The innate immune system relies mainly on physical and chemical barriers. There are three components of the innate immune system which include the anatomical barrier, the humoral barrier and the cellular barrier. The anatomical barriers called the first line of defense include the skin, saliva, tears, mucus and eyelashes present in the intestinal and respiratory tract. The skin acts as a mechanical barrier while others are chemical barriers. If the pathogen escapes from the anatomical barriers, acute inflammation occurs and the humoral barrier comes into play. The humoral barriers include the complement system and interleukin. Finally, the cell barrier which destroys the pathogen if it entered the body by crossing the first two barriers. It includes various cells such as neutrophils, macrophages, natural killer cells and dendritic cells. Scientific peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the consideration of others who are experts in the same field, before an article describing it work is not published in a journal. The work can be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) area, who are qualified and capable of carrying out a reasonably impartial review.
