Biography

Dr. Nezamoddin N Kachouie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Tech. After completing his PhD in Systems Design Engineering, he joined Division of Health Sciences and Technologies at Harvard-MIT as a Postdoctoral Fellow developing micro-engineering and high throughput analysis methods for applications to stem cell research and tissue engineering. Dr. Kachouie then joined Harvard School of Public Health and Dana Farber Cancer Institute developing statistical methods for feature detection in noisy observations with applications to genomic data analysis as well as global warming.

Research Interest

His research interest lies at the interface of statistical analysis, pattern recognition, computer vision, and digital signal & image processing for biomedical and environmental applications. His projects rely on patterns, features, and relationships extracted based on analysis and visualization of large sets of one-dimensional (1D), 2D, and 3D signals including genomic data, satellite imagery, and medical image sequences.
