Biography

Dr. Célia Maria Machado Barbosa de Castro graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Pernambuco - UFPE (1983) and completed Master's Degree in Nutrition from UFPE (1990). He got his Doctorate Sandwich Abroad in Pharmacology, Federal University of Ceará / Paris, France, (1997) and Post-doctorate in Enfermedades Tropicales, Centro de Investigación de Enfermedades Tropicales (CIETUS), Salamanca, Spain (2009 2010). He is currently Full Professor of the Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology at UFPE. He is leader of the CNPq Research Group: Nutrition, Immunity and Physical Activity.
