Abstract :

Skin cancer incidence continues to rise worldwide, with ultraviolet exposure, environmental factors, and genetic susceptibility driving increased prevalence across diverse populations. This presentation examines global strategies for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer prevention, focusing on high-risk groups including outdoor workers, immunocompromised individuals, and populations living in regions with intense UV radiation. The session begins with an overview of skin cancer epidemiology and risk stratification, emphasizing the growing burden in both high-income and low-resource settings. Evidence-based prevention strategies—such as sun-protection behaviors, sunscreen use, protective clothing, and UV-monitoring technologies—will be explored. The talk will highlight successful public-health campaigns from Australia, South Korea, and Europe, demonstrating how well-structured education and policy interventions significantly reduce skin cancer incidence. Emerging tools, including AI-driven skin monitoring apps and community-based screening programs, will also be reviewed for their potential to enhance early detection. Special focus will be placed on disparities in access to dermatologic care and the need to integrate skin-health awareness into primary healthcare systems, particularly in underserved communities. The presentation concludes with recommendations for global collaboration, emphasizing multidisciplinary approaches that unite clinicians, policymakers, educators, and public-health organizations to reduce the worldwide impact of skin cancer.

Biography :

David Kim is a senior dermatologist and academic faculty member at Seoul National University College of Medicine. His expertise spans skin cancer prevention, dermatoepidemiology, and UV-related skin damage. With more than 20 years of experience, he has led national awareness initiatives, contributed to global prevention guidelines, and published extensively on melanoma risk and early detection strategies. Prof. Kim is a highly respected speaker at international dermatology, oncology, and public-health conferences.
