Skin aging is influenced by both intrinsic biological processes and extrinsic environmental factors collectively known as the exposome, including ultraviolet radiation, air pollution, climate, nutrition, and lifestyle. This presentation explores recent advances in understanding the molecular mechanisms of skin aging, oxidative stress, inflammation, and epidermal barrier dysfunction. Emerging research has identified novel biomarkers that improve the assessment of skin health and guide personalized dermatological treatments.
The session discusses innovations in antioxidant based skincare, bioactive cosmetic ingredients, peptide technology, stem cell-derived products, and microbiome-targeted therapies that promote skin regeneration and healthy aging. Advances in artificial intelligence, non-invasive skin imaging, and precision dermatology are also improving clinical diagnosis and cosmetic treatment planning. Future perspectives include personalized skincare, sustainable cosmetic formulations, and regenerative dermatology aimed at enhancing skin health across diverse populations.
