Abstract :

Acne vulgaris remains one of the most prevalent inflammatory skin disorders, affecting millions worldwide and significantly impacting quality of life. This presentation explores recent advances in the understanding of acne pathogenesis, including the roles of the skin microbiome, sebaceous gland biology, inflammation, and hormonal regulation. Emerging diagnostic biomarkers and precision medicine approaches are improving individualized treatment strategies.

The session highlights innovations in topical and systemic therapies, laser and light-based treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, and regenerative aesthetic procedures. Advances in dermocosmetics, probiotic skincare, and artificial intelligence assisted skin assessment are enhancing treatment outcomes while minimizing adverse effects. Future perspectives focus on personalized acne management, sustainable cosmetic formulations, and digital dermatology technologies.

Biography :

Gabriella Fabbrocini is Professor of Dermatology at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Her research focuses on acne, cosmetic dermatology, skin aging, laser therapy, and dermatologic surgery. She has authored numerous scientific publications and is internationally recognized for her contributions to clinical and aesthetic dermatology.
