Lymphomatoid Papulosis

Lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP) is a chronic, non-contagious skin condition characterized by the eruption of recurrent, self-healing bumps (lesions) on the skin. Usually, the lesions start small and then grow larger, and can bleed or ulcerate before becoming scaly and crusty. They also develop a red-brown color. Lesion-related symptoms can include itching and/or discomfort, which can be debilitating. The frequency of eruptions varies over time and between individuals. Lesions can be very persistent, or they may leave for long periods of time before returning. They may occur anywhere on the body but usually develop on the arms, trunk and legs and may grow on the ears, hands and genitals.
