Antiretrovirals Peer-reviewed Journals

The peer-reviewed articles on Antiretrovirals pave the way for the discovery and development of antiviral medications, formulations, and therapeutic methods to prevent viral infections. Importantly, it offers the ability to educate antiviral drug and therapy researchers, physicians and those working in the area. It is a widely recognized journal for scientists interested in antiviral and antiretroviral work with fundamental, applied, and clinical aspects. Most viruses are known to appear and re-emerge, affecting both animal and human populations. Zoonotic viruses can cause substantial morbidity and mortality; however, protection-protective vaccines are only available for a small number. The primary current approach to viral disease therapy is to target viral components necessary for replication. There are a range of drawbacks that target viral components, including the restricted number of druggable viral targets due to viruses having a small genome, as well as the rapid growth of drug-resistance. New drug treatments combine antivirals to improve potency and to prevent drug-resistant strains from emerging. These techniques are successful for viruses such as HIV but obviously our drug arsenal needs to be extended to tackle the broad range of viruses. This approach is based on alternative drug development approaches, such as looking at the virus-host interface.
