Biography

He has completed his Ph.D degree in Ecological Economics on “valuation of forest resources in West Bengal” from Rabindra Bharati University with more than 15 years of research experience in different Indian research centers, including University Grants Commission (UGC) and 7 years teaching experience of M.Phil (Ecological economics), PG (Environmental Economics) and UG Courses (Environmental Economics) in Jadavpur University and Rabindra Bharati University. He has experience in managing and executing development programmes in various capacities for Government, International Development organizations and Private Sector. He has worked in the areas of climate change, forestry, biodiversity and environment. He has domain expertise in Climate Change, Forest Economics, Ecological Economics, Sustainable forest management, Biodiversity Assessment, Policy analysis, etc. In 2008, He has received an award from International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada to present a research paper on Climate Change in the 15th World Congress of International Economic Association at Istanbul, Turkey. He has presented more than 20 research papers in different countries like Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, Nepal, Thailand, Belgium, France, Kenya etc and 5 edited volumes related to Environmental Economics and Forestry. He has written more than 35 research articles on climate change, environmental and development economics. He has visited so far more than 15 countries for forestry and climate change related assignments and conferences.
