Dr.Jonathan Pena Castro is a graduated in Biology from the State University of Ponta Grossa (2008), has experience in bioecology of invertebrates, with emphasis on biological control, taxonomy and life cycle of Coleoptera , with several articles published in journals of high reputation. The emphasis in this area of research was the biological control of toxic plant Senecio brasiliensis by the coleoptera Phaedon confines. After that, specialized in Scientific and Technological Education at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (2010), and PhD in evolutionary biology at State University of Ponta Grossa (2012). His other area of research is in evolutionary biology, which is actually developing. He is currently Professor at the State Department of Education and conducts research in evolutionary biology, with neotropical fishes, among them, the evolutionary model Astyanax scabripinnis, considered a species complex whose populations have, among other features, B chromosomes. Has several high impact articles published about these fish.
