    Overview and Allergic Sensitization of Atopic Dermatitis in a Lebanese Population: A Cross-sectional Study

    Background: Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin condition. Incidence of AD has increased 2- to 3-fold in the western world, impacting approximately 15% to 20% of children and 1% to 3% of adults worldwide. Local epidemiologic data is scarce and limited to children or adolescents. Objective: The study aims to determine the prevalence of eczema among Lebanese adolescents and identify demographic and clinical characteristics associated with eczema. Methods: This is retrospective study that includes patients of all ages who were diagnosed with atopic dermatitis in 2018 at a tertiary Allergy and Immunology center over the course of one year.
