Ali Allahverdi is Professor of Chemical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), where he has been since 2002. He received his Ph.D. from Institute of Chemical technology, Prague in 2001. His research interests include process and material technologies of inorganic binders, waste recycling in inorganic industries, environmental aspects of inorganic chemical process industries and inorganic nano-materials. From 2008 to 2013 and as the head of Cement Research Center in IUST, he led all centre activities from marketing to offering a variety of engineering, research and developmental services in different fields of problem solving, energy efficiency improvement, quality enhancement, waste recycling and composite cement manufacturing. Professor Allahverdi is co-author of Handbook of Recycled Concrete and Demolition Waste (Woodhead publishing, 2013) and Handbook of Alkali-activated Cements, Mortars, and Concretes (Woodhead publishing, 2015) and the author of about 60 journal papers. He holds 7 patents deriving from his research work.
