Spreading Contol Of Maleria In Community Health

Avoidance of malaria is currently based on two complementary methods: chemoprophylaxis and protection against mosquito bites. While several malaria vaccines are under development, none is accessible yet. Malaria can often be avoided using the ABCD approach to prevention, which stands for: Awareness of risk, Bite prevention, Check whether you have to take malaria prevention tablets, Diagnosis. It's not possible to avoid mosquito bites completely, but the less you're bitten, the less likely you are to get malaria. To avoid being bitten: Better Stay somewhere that has effective air conditioning and screening on doors and windows. If this is not possible, make sure all doors and windows close properly. If you are not sleeping in a refreshing room, sleep under an mosquito net that is been treated with insecticide. Use creepy crawly repellent on your skin and in resting conditions. Remember to reapply it frequently. The most effective repellents contain diethyltoluamide (DEET) and which are available in sprays, roll-ons, sticks and creams. Wear light, loose-fitting trousers rather than shorts, wear shirts with long sleeves. This is most important during early evening and at night, when mosquitoes prefer to feed.
