Shrimp farming is a business which is related to Aquaculture that deals with the cultivation and production of aquatic animals like shrimp or prawns. This kind of farming exists in either a marine or freshwater environment; this is a wide range of business among the world mainly for human consumption. Freshwater and Marine water shrimp farming are the 2 types. Extensive shrimp farming with an average production range of 2.5 to 3 t/ha/crop with stocking density of 1,00,000/ha/crop may be allowed. Good quality Selection of seed for stocking into a pond is the first important step of the shrimp production management. Typically it takes 120 to 140 days to harvest for cultivation. Small Farmers Groups (SFG) can play a very important role in managing the shrimp farms and environment resulting in Sustaining shrimp farming, it includes complex set of factors require multiple inputs and diverse perspectives. Due to its surplus nature, this enterprise has attracted many local farmers towards shrimp farming. The area under cultivation has been continuously increasing in the recent decades.
