Inheritance Of Osteoarthritis

Cartilage may be a firm, rubbery, flexible animal tissue covering the ends of bones in normal joints. it's primarily made from water and proteins whose primary function is to scale back friction within the joints and function a "shock absorber." The shock-absorbing quality of normal cartilage comes from its ability to vary shape when compressed, due to its high water content. Although cartilage may undergo some repair when damaged, the body doesn't grow new cartilage after injury. Cartilage is avascular, meaning there are not any blood vessels in it. Therefore, healing may be a slow process.Cartilage is formed from two main elements: cells within it referred to as chondrocytes and a gel-like substance called matrix, composed mostly of water and two sorts of proteins (collagen and proteoglycans).
