Forensic odontology is the proper manipulation, examination and evaluation of dental evidence, which will be presented in the interests of justice. Evidence that can be derived from teeth, age (in children) and the identification of the person to whom the teeth may belong. Knowledge of the forensic dentist requires covering a certain number of disciplines, since the dental records obtained can identify a person or provide the information necessary for the authorities to establish the identification of the case. Keizer-Neilson has defined forensic dentistry as "that branch of forensic dentistry which, in the interest of justice, involves the proper processing and examination of dental evidence as well as the proper assessment and presentation of dental findings / . keep dental records accurately and provide the required information, which will assist judicial authorities to recognize negligence, professional misconduct, fraud or abuse and the identification of strangers.
