Disease refers to any condition that causes pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems, or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person. Some infectious diseases may be passed from person to person. Some are transmitted by bites from insects or animals are no inheritable by ingesting contaminated food or water or being exposed to organisms within the atmosphere. Autoimmune diseases have posed a challenge for medical professionals and scientists for many years, and are very difficult to diagnose and treat. The human body slowly starts to shut down on its own, and there is very little that can be done presently to reverse such ailments.
