The anterior cruciate ligament is one of the key ligaments that help stabilize the knee joint. The Anterior Cruciate Ligament prevents the shin bone from sliding out in front of the thigh bone. It is usually torn during the sports that involve sudden stops and changes in direction such as basketball, tennis, soccer and volleyball. Posterior cruciate ligament works with the ACL which prevents the shin bone from sliding backwards under the femur. Open access refers to unrestricted, free online access to research outputs such as books, journal and articles. There are two main routes to making research outputs openly accessible, one involves publishing articles or books via the OA route on a publisher’s platform and the other involves archiving a particular version of the manuscript in an OA repository.
