Dr. Tao Li is currently an Assistant Research Scientist (research faculty member) at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and has also served as an intermittent lecturer in the department. He received hisB.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China with a major in Precision Instruments, and then Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2009. His research interests include micromachined sensors and actuators, sensor interfaces, and nontraditional microfabrication technologies and their applications to MEMS devices and microsystems.
Micromachined sensors and actuators; biomedical sensors and interfaces;micromachining technologies, such as micro electro-discharge machining (EDM) & micro ultrasonic machining with/without lithography compatibility, and their applications to nontraditional materials for MEMS devices and microsystems.
