    Understanding Sleep Apnea: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

    Sleep apnea is a common yet potentially serious sleep disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. Characterized by interruptions in breathing during sleep, this condition can have significant impacts on overall health and well-being. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by repeated pauses in breathing during sleep. These interruptions, known as apneas, can last for a few seconds to minutes and may occur dozens of times per hour. The three main types of sleep apnea are Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) and complex/mixed sleep apnea. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is the most common form, accounting for approximately 84% of all sleep apnea cases.
