Dr. Ramasamy is a urologist and microsurgeon, specializing in male fertility and sexual dysfunction. He has performed and published research in men's reproductive health issues including genetic basis of male infertility and evaluating and treating hypogonadism. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications on clinical and scientific issues in reproductive health. He has presented in over 25 national and international conferences and co-authored several book chapters. Through his published work, he is a proponent of the theory that microdissection testicular sperm extraction is one of the most effective treatments for men with no sperm in the ejaculate. He is also an expert in testosterone therapy and has published several research studies on the optimal candidates for testosterone treatment. He has given opinions about the controversial issue of the association between testosterone and cardiovascular risk for AARP and Endocrine Today. Dr. Ramasamy serves as a reviewer for a number of prestigious professional journals including European Urology, Fertility and Sterility, Journal of Urology, British Journal of Urology, Urology, Canadian Urology Association Journal, International Journal of Urology, Indian Journal of Urology. He is on the editorial board for Reproductive System and Sexual disorders. He has served as a lecturer for several courses at Baylor College of Medicine. Recently, He lectured at the American Urological Association annual meeting, Malaysian Society of Assisted Reproduction, Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, CME course at American Tamil Medical Association and the Urological Society of India annual meeting, New Delhi, India. He is also previously been on faculty of the Andrology Training Workshop for Postgraduates in India.
