He is currently working at the Department of Dermatology, University of Pisa, Italy. The interests and scientific research fields of Dr. D'Erme in the past few years have focused on pigmentary disorders, especially on vitiligo, and on dermato-allergology, with particular interest on atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and chronic hand eczema. In particular, he studied the systemic involvement of vitiligo and the role of neuropeptide and neurogic pathways in this disease. He was involved in the study of evaluation of incidence and costs of chronic hand eczema in Italy and in the educational programs in atopic dermatitis. Furthermore, he evaluated biomarkers allowing to distinguish atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis and lichen planus. He is author of 40 publications on indexed journals in Dermatology fields.
