Biography

Dr. V. Sapthagirivasan is currently working as a Solution Consultant in Medical Devices and Healthcare Technology department at IGATE global solutions, Pune, India. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from Madras University, India, in 2003 and the Master’s degree in Medical Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India, in 2007. He received his Ph.D. in medical image analysis under the department of Biomedical Engineering from the School of Bio-Engineering, SRM University, Chennai, India in January, 2015. He has over 8 years of experience in research and development of medical image analysis including nearly 4 years in industry. He presented in more than 15 international conferences in India and abroad, and published around 10 peer reviewed international journal articles including a book chapter. His research interests are Design of medical systems, Medical image processing, Visualization, Computer aided diagnosis, Bone densitometry and e- and m-Healthcare. He is an active life member in various scientific societies. He served as program committee member, session chair, reviewer, editorial board member for various international conferences and journals including IEEE, SPIE, SAGE and Elsevier.
