Abstract :

A thin-layer chromatography (TLC) method for determining the sum of MG and LMG residues in fish is described. The total MG on TLC gave a characteristic green color at visible light by naked eyes. This property was used to determine TCs on silica gel by densitometer. Using a mobile phase of ACN: acidified MeOH: acetic acid 0.1N (8:1:1, v/v/v) and a silica gel thinlayer, total MG were well separated from impurities. The total MG was selectively determined by densitometry at 620 nm. The relative standard deviation for the method at 1µg kg-1 was <3.0%. The detection capability (CC²) was 1 µg kg-1 and the limit of detection (LOD) was 0.5 µg kg-1. Trueness (recovery) was 73.4%. The variation of results was not significant, as the coefficient of variation (CV%) was 8.71% (<20%). cecile.soulignac@etu.univ-rouen.fr
