Abstract :

While children often experienced milder acute COVID-19 infections, a subset continue to suffer from persistent symptoms known as post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC), or ??long COVID.? Anya Volkov from Kyiv provides an in-depth overview of the clinical spectrum of post-COVID syndromes in children, including fatigue, neurocognitive issues, POTS, and mental health sequelae. This session will explore current research findings, diagnostic challenges, and multidisciplinary care approaches. Emphasis will be placed on distinguishing PASC from psychosomatic disorders and offering individualized rehabilitation plans. Volkov will also discuss vaccination, school reintegration, and family counselling in the context of persistent post-viral symptoms.

Biography :

Anya Volkov is a pediatric infectious disease specialist and researcher at the National Children??s Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine. She completed her MD at Kyiv Medical University and received additional training in infectious disease epidemiology from the WHO. She has published extensively on pediatric COVID-19 outcomes and participates in global research collaborations on long COVID in children.
