The analysis of the geological positions of the largest oil and gas basins, carried out on the basis of research data represented in the "Geological Atlas of Russia" and other publications, made it possible to delimit the Urals-African petroleum belt of oil and gas. This greatest accumulation of hydrocarbon accumulation on Earth is connected to the quasi-southern band of a giant zone of intercontinental faults (rifting) preexisting from Riphean in the central part of Eurasia and elongated with a gentle rejuvenation to across the Paleozoic and Mesozoic to the South Caspian region, the Persian Gulf and the African platform (meridian system of African faults).
