Ocean ecosystems consist of the world's oceans and encircling small water bodies such as river basins and estuaries to the large ones such as seas and oceans. Their area is measured in terms km, and are studied in terms of bathymetry and hydrography. Ocean ecosystems must be protected and preserved as the world’s ocean waters are degraded hugely by indefensible fishing practices, habitat degradation of marine organisms, eutrophication, water pollution, aerosol contamination, etc. The degradation could be prevented by recuperating exhausted fish populations, restoring the degraded habitats and reducing the coastal pollution. The degradation of marine or coastal ecosystem is immensely affecting the world's yearly saltwater fishery yields. Review articles are the summary of current state of understanding on a particular research topic. They analyze or discuss research previously published by scientist and academicians rather than the reporting novel research results.
