Pharmacogenomics is part of a field called personalized medicine which aims to personalize health care, with decisions and treatments adapted to each patient in every possible way. Pharmacogenomics deals with new innovations in the field of personalized medicines and innovations in the discovery of personalized medicines using proteome technology. It explains the inherited genetic differences in the metabolic pathway of drugs that can affect individual response to drugs, including the therapeutic effect as well as adverse effects, and also studies various aspects of drug design, drug development and administration of the drug. Pharmacogenomics is the branch of medical science dealing with the use of DNA and other amino acid sequence data in the process of drug development and testing. It deals with individual genetic variation along with drug responses.
