Bone marrow edema occurs with age. Generally, the bone marrow has three parts: the bone part, the fatty part and the part of production of blood cells. In the young age, the three portions are present in general proportions. As age increases, the part of blood cell production decreases and the fatty part increases, which leads to edema of the bone marrow. Peer review refers to the work carried out during the pre-selection of submitted manuscripts and funding requests. This process encourages authors to adhere to accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant discoveries, unjustified claims, unacceptable interpretations and personal opinions. Publications that have not been peer reviewed are likely to be viewed with suspicion by academics and professionals.
