Biochemistry is also called biological chemistry which is the study of chemical processes related to living organisms. Much of biochemistry involves the functions, structures and interactions of biological macromolecules which include nucleic acids, proteins, fats and carbohydrates, which will provide the structure of cells and help perform many of the functions associated with life. High impact journals are those that are considered very influential in their respective fields. The journal impact factor provides a quantitative evaluation tool for classifying, evaluating, sorting and comparing journals of a similar nature. It reflects the average number of citations of recent articles published in scientific and social science journals in a given year or period, and is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal in its field. It was first designed by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information. The impact factor of a journal is assessed by dividing the number of citations from the current year to source articles published in that journal in the previous two years.
