Yuanlong Yu received the B.Eng. degree in automatic control in 2000 from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, the M.Eng. degree in computer applied technology in 2003 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2010 from Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. Johns, NL, Canada. Currently he is a Post-doctoral Fellow at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He was awarded the Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2010. His main interests are cognitive vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, visual attention, autonomous mental development and cognitive robotics. He has published more than ten papers in IEEE leading Journals and IEEE International Conferences.
