Professor Raed Abu Zitar, B.S. Electrical Engineering, University of Jordan, 1988. M.S. Computer Engineering, North Carolina A&T State University, 1989, Ph.D. Computer Engineering, Wayne State University, Michigan, 1993. Winner of many awards including Hisham Al-Hijjawi Regional Award on IT sector for the year 2008 and Al-Hussien Fund for Excellence award for Computer Science for the year 2003, in addition to several grants for research funding. More than 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration. Held many administrative positions as dean and chairperson in Jordan. Authored and coauthored more than 50 papers in journals and conferences. Supervised many graduate students. Conducted many training workshops and chaired many committees. Helped in organizing many conferences. Participated in many Ministry of Higher Education Accreditation committees. Member of the Editorial board of many International Journals. Active in community service for fighting computer illiteracy. Research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining, and Robotics. Currently, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at the American University of Madaba, Jordan.
