Biography

Associate Professor Munish Puri is an established leader in the field of Industrial biotechnology and working as Group head bioprocessing at Centre for Biotechnology (BioDeakin), Deakin University, Australia. He has contributed towards the development of protein biotechnology processes with respect to the use of industrial proteins/enzymes. His contribution in the mentioned area lead to i) molecular cloning, expression and purification of microbial proteins, ii) biophysical and biochemical characterization of many unidentified proteins involved in flavonoid hydrolysis and iii) immobilization of various enzymes with potential application in food, pharmaceutical and bioenergy sector.

He is employing enzyme based technology for the extraction of bioactives from plants and microbes. He has many International awards to his credit, supervised/co-supervised many PhD and master in biotechnology students.
