Biography

Dr. Milen I. Georgiev is an Associated Professor of Institute of Microbiology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.He also holds a Marie Curie Fellow position in Institute of Biology, Institute of Food Technology and Bioprocess Engineering, TU Dresden, Germany .He has received a PhD from the Institute of Microbiology, Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2002-2006.He received a Marin Drinov award for best Bulgarian young scientist in biological sciences in 2008.He is a member of European Federation of Biotechnology.He is permanent reviewer of over 10 high quality journals (e.g. Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, Process Biochemistry, Biotechnology Progress, Plant Cell Reports).

Research Interest

Plant biotechnology, Secondary metabolism, Bioprocess engineering, Agrobacterium rhizogenes-mediated genetic transformations.
