Biography

Dr. Liang Wang holds DrPH and MPH degrees in Public Health, Epidemiology specialization, from East Tennessee State University (ETSU), USA. He is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, College of Public Health at ETSU. Before coming to the USA, he completed an MD in clinical medicine and had worked for the following companies: GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical, Artequick Pharmaceutical, and Tyco International Healthcare. Dr. Wang, along with colleagues of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, went to Cambodia to collaborate with the Cambodian Ministry of Health to fight malaria. Dr. Wang is the member of American College of Epidemiology, the Society of Epidemiologic Research, China Health Policy and Management Society, American Heart Association, Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, American Public Health Association, Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honorary Society, The Golden Key International Honor Society, and Tennessee Cancer coalition. His current research includes maternal and child health, chronic disease, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and intervention study. Dr. Wang has presented at local and national conferences in the US. He twice, 2009 and 2010, was awarded as the American Public Health Association Maternal and Child Health Outstanding author. In 2011 Dr. Wang was appointed as the associate director of the China-Tennessee Health Education Training Institute.
