Biography

Dr Wong Kai Pun, obtained my medical degree in the University of Hong Kong in 2005. And He passed the fellowship examination of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and became Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (General Surgery) in 2012. He joined Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong as Clinical Assistant Professor in January 2015. Dr. Wong Kai Pun have completed the Post-fellowship Training sub-specialized in Endocrine Surgery in June 2015. His research interest in surgical outcome of endocrine operation, application of ultrasound in endocrine surgery and endocrine oncology. Since 2011, 53 articles have been accepted and published, while he was the principle author in 15 of them. Majority are endocrine disease related. And he have presented 22 oral and 11 posters conference papers in local and international meetings. Throughout my medical career, I have received few research awards, namely Best research award by the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, Travel Awards twice by International Association of Endocrine Surgeons and Resident / Fellow Research Award, Clinical Research, by the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. Dr. Kai Wung Pun have been awarded with GB Ong Travelling Grant in 2013. Recently, he have awarded MAS Travelling scholarship by The Society of Hong Kong Minimal Access Surgery in 2017.Other than academic research, he have been actively involved in teaching and education of undergraduate and medical personnel. He have delivered more than 10 invited lectures to medical graduate, nurse and medical specialist. He is keen to continue my medical career through an academic path, actively participating in teaching, research and publication and would be delighted to be involved in expanding the frontier of endocrine surgery.

Research Interest

Ultrasound in endocrine disease, surgical outcome in endocrine-related operation and endocrine oncology.
