Songeli Menezes Freire from 1984 until now is Pharmacist and Researcher in Immunology at Laboratorio de Imunologia (Labimuno) of the Federal University of Bahia(UFBA) in Salvador -Bahia, where she had many opportunities to grow up under direction of her first adviser and boss and current Colaborator, Dr. Roberto Meyer. She concluded her PhD in Immunology at Buenos Aires University (UBA-Argentina) and had as adviser Dr. Ricardo Anibal Margni at IDEHU-UBA, in 1996. In 2009 she was aproved in public concurse for Professor of chairs of Bioethics and Biosafety , both located in Ciencias da Biointeração Department in the Health and Sciences Institute at Federal University of Bahia, in Brazil. Since 2010 she is a mamber of the Nucleous of Transdiciplinar Research and Education in Bioethics (NETBio) at the Faculty of Madicina of Bahia (FAMEB) in the FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF BAHIA (UFBA). She has successfully completed her Administrative, Technical and academic responsibilities and she was a CNPq Researcher during almost 6 years. She has received two Institutional honors, because of her main action as Coordinator of ethics awareness courses on responsibility and training in biosafety and Occupational Safety for Health professionals with more than 1000 enrolled in extracurricular activities; as the manager of the campaign against hepatitis B Occupational at Public University and Coordinator of the Graduate Program (Master and Doctorate ) in Immunology at the UFBA. in the past she was editorial member of Brazilian Journal of Infectious Disease, Revista Brasileira de Saúde e Produção Animal - UFBA. She had activities as Ad Hoc consultant of National Scientific and Technological Development Council (CNPq) and member of the scientific committee of the Foundation of the Support Research of the State of Bahia (FAPESB). She is a senior Research authored many articles in the last 20 years in her research areas. She was editor and authored chapters on Biosafety Manual for Health and Sciences areas (in 2000), and currently in 2011 co-authored Ethics chapter of 1st edition of Therapeuthic neuromodulation book (Sarvier) and in 2015 co-authored - chapter of Biosafety and microorganism detection of 3rd edition of Procedures and Methodologies in Criminology book (Millennium). She is the director of scientific research projects and advisor of Scientific Iniciation students in the undergraduation course of Biotechnology and Students of Master and Doctorate in Immunology and Interactive Processes at the UFBA. Her main interest field: Immunodiagnosis and vaccination response on tuberculosis and B hepatitis, celular and humoral immunology on tuberculosis, lymphadenitis and B hepatitis. Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. Bioprospection and influence in immune system. Occupational safety, Health care workers, bioethics and biosafety in fundamental, secondary and universitary education .
