Biography

Alena FURDOVÁ was born in 1963, Bratislava, Slovak Republic. She finished medical studies at Comenius University, Faculty of Medicine, Bratislava, in 1988. She started to deal with problematic of intraocular tumors since her medical studies. Since 1993 she works at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University, Bratislava, since 2011 as associated professor. She finished her post-gradual studies and PhD in 1999. In 2010 she finished MPH (Master of Public Health) studies at Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. She published over 230 scientific publications and three monographs dealing with problematic with intra and extra-ocular tumors, especially with malignant melanoma.
