Jianzhong Zhang received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied geophysics and information technology from Chengdu University of Technology, China, in 1985, 1988, and 2001, respectively. He worked on geophysical signal processing as an engineer (1988-1996) and a senior engineer (1996-1998) at the Second Integrated Geophysical Exploration Team, Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the PRC.
