Biography

Eleonora Giorgini was born in Civitanova Marche, Macerata, Italy, on August 26 1981. After the high school qualification in classical studies in 2000 with degrees 100/100 she attended the Medical School at the University Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna ( 2000-2006) and she graduated with the top grade. In the academic year 2007 she was admitted to the Master Degree of General Surgery in Bologna and graduated as specialist surgeon with grades 70/70 Magna cum Laude on 31th July 2013. During her residency she attended the Colon-Proctology Unit and the Bariatric Unit at the Sant’ Orsola –Malpighi Hospital. After 3 years she decided to continue her training experience at the Emergency and Trauma Surgery Unit - Trauma Center (Head Dr. F. Baldoni-Dr. Tugnoli) of Maggiore Hospital in Bologna where she obtained the possibility to train also in Thoracic Surgery at the Bellaria Hospital ( Head Dr. Boaron). She completed her residency in Hepato-biliary Unit in Maggiore Hospital where she got the duty of data manager about an international randomized study on Rectal Cancer. Very important in her work experience was the attending to the Hepato-Biliary Unit ( chief Prof. Pessaux) at the Hopital Noveau directed by Prof. Marescaux. In 2012 she achieved the Mazzeo Award for the best scientific curriculum between young surgeons in Italy. She authored a lot of works published in national and international journals and she is reviewer for several journals thank to the various training experience and her personal interest and curiosity on the surgical matter and tecnology. Since 2012 she is official member of Omnics Group.
