Bipin N Savani

Biography

 Dr Savani’s area of specialization is in the treatment of hematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation, and his primary field of research is in the long-term follow-up after transplantation, including regimen-related toxicity/ supportive care, and outcomes analysis of transplant recipients. Dr Savani has published over 200 peer reviewed articles, reviews, book chapters, editorials, perspectives and commentaries in the field of hematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation. He is an associate editor of the journals Bone Marrow Transplantation (official journal of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation- EBMT) and Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (official journal of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation- ASBMT); and also serves as an editorial advisory board member for several journals in the field. Dr Savani is currently Co-Chair of the steering Committee on Practice Guidelines (CoPG)- ASBMT, Acute Leukemia Working Party (ALWP)- EBMT (RIC subcommittee leader) and the Late Effects & Quality of Life Working Committee (LEWC) - Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant research (CIBMTR). He also serves as an Advisory Committee Members at Large North America-CIBMTR.  He has recently edited special issues for Seminars in Hematology (Late effects after transplantation- 2012; T-cell lymphoma- 2014; Alternative donor transplantation- 2016), Hematology/ Oncology Clinics of North America (Bone Marrow Transplantation- December 2014) and edited Wiley books entitled "Blood and Marrow Transplantation Long Term Management: Prevention and Complications" (December, 2013) and "Clinical Guide to Transplantation in Lymphomas" (September 2015). He has served as a Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) adults and pediatrics program clinical/ marrow collection facilities inspector role since 2011.
