Biography

Sayed Mohammad Nazim Uddin is currently working as a PhD Researcher at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), China.His current research is focused on ‘Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation towards Eco-City Development’.Additionally, he is acting as Project Manager of a research project in the field of 'Water and Sustainable Sanitation' in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia jointly executed by USTB and Action Contre la Faim (ACF) International France and Mongolia and  supervising a range master's students under this project on different research topics such as sustainable sanitation, social marketing and business of sustainable sanitation products, economics and financial outlines of sustainable sanitation. In addition, he has successfully completed B.Sc. (honors) in Environmental Science (National University Bangladesh), M.Sc. in Water Resources Development (BUET-Bangladesh), Master's of Environmental Studies (Nagoya University-Japan), International Diploma in Community Development (ASI-Philippines), 2 year-Certificate course in Global Environmental Leadership on Water and Waste Management (Nagoya University- Japan).He has authored over two dozens of peer reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings. Recently he has been invited as ‘Visiting Research Scholar’ at the University of West of England Bristol’. Currently he is also holding a Chairman Position at the ‘Nagoya University Global Environmental Leaders Association’ in Japan. He is an ambassador of Water, Engineering and Development Center (WEDC), Loughborough University-England in China. He has international exposures to 20 countries for his studies, research, works, conferences, trainings and collaborations.

Research Interest

His research interests include social and environment, water pollution and health issue, sustainable sanitation, social survey systems, social business and marketing, water resources management, waste management, community development, community based disaster management, training and education materials development.
