Abstract :

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) remains a major public-health issue worldwide. This presentation examines modern strategies for identifying and protecting high-risk individuals. Discussion topics include electrocardiographic screening, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, wearable monitoring, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapy. The talk reviews breakthroughs in genetic testing and AI-enhanced arrhythmia prediction. Case studies illustrate real-world challenges in risk-stratification and guideline implementation. New technologies, such as subcutaneous ICDs and remote ICD monitoring, are assessed for their role in expanding access and improving safety.
