Aim: In this study, we determined effect on male nursesā?? self efficacy and professional image of professionalism education. Methodology: This study was conducted at a research and education hospital in Northern Turkey. This study was made with one group pre and post test experimental study design. Thirty six male nurse participated in this study. Firstly, it was selected non randomise 36 male nurses and 36 Male nurses. Pre tests included descriptive questionnaire form, Professional image at Nursing and 'General Self-Efficacy Scaleā??. And after pretest, it was given professionalism education. This education was made at 8 hour and included four sessions about professionalism, professional image, self image, self efficacy, leadership, and team work. After education, post test study was conducted. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and paired t test. Ethical board report and verbal permission from participants were taken. Results: When the descriptive specifications of the participants have been examined, it has been found that the average age is determined to be 36.67±7.13, 83.8% of them are married, 50.0% of them had undergraduate degree, 36.1% of them are working emergency services. It has been also found that the 36.1% of the participants have a family member that has been in nursing profession and 72.2% of them do not want their children to be nurses. Male nurses' average score of image scale for nursing occupation was 142.2±10.4 (moderate) before training; and 170.5±13.7 (good level) after training. The mean score of male nurses ' General Self-Efficacy Scaleā?? was 34.4±5.3 before training; and 50.5±8.7 after training. Conclusions: It is clear from the results of this study that the professional image education given to male nurses has been changed in a good way to their professional image and general self-efficacy towards the nursing profession.
