Abstract :

Introduction: Behavioural issues, speech, communication and language issues, social skill impairment are the major challenges of ASDs. These challenges of ASDs cannot be overcome by training alone. Homeopathy is playing an important role in helping the ASDs to come into the limelight. A sample case study is presented to highlight the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment in the management of ASD. Background: The case history is taken in the homeopathic way where all the circumstances that lead up to the present day are enquired into. Care is taken to identify the individualizing symptoms. Case History: â?¢ Name: Master D â?¢ Age: 4 years when presented last year. â?¢ Presented with recurrent episodes of seizures on most of the days, poor eye coordination, difficulty in speech and comprehension, unable to communicate or understand his basic needs pertaining to appetite, bowel or urinary habits. Poor in socializing with other kids and with his sibling. The case has a history of regression of speech and motor development at 1 yr and 6 months of age with normal structure of a body. Procedure of Treatment: Based on the individualizing symptoms, constitutional medicine/similimum was administered to the patient. Result: â?¢ There is the reduction in episodes of seizures to 1 episode a month with mild intensity. â?¢ He shows cues for his basic needs â?¢ Tries to play with toys, â?¢ Started socializing with other kids â?¢ Responds to when called â?¢ Improved eye contact
