Its inherent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, in conjunction with a well-balanced macronutrient profile, are instrumental in achieving sustained improvements in diabetes management, thereby potentially mitigating the risk of developing long-term complications. [1] Furthermore, strong evidence suggests a significant association between adherence to the Mediterranean diet and improvements in key glycemic markers, alongside a notable reduction in cardiovascular risk among patients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
